Meet Ashely

I have designed this purse for my dear friend, who recently had a birthday. She's been very supportive of my business and this blog!

I have several design ideas for purses so I decided to name this one "Ashely" so it would be easier to identify each one of the purses I make. I had so much fun making this purse. I have been learning and experimenting with my new sewing machine and being quit busy!

The other day I went to a quilt shop and picked out these new Moda fabrics. It's a little different than what I usually pick. But I love them.

They have kind of a retro feel to them. I decided on a design and cut them up to make a quilt. I also finished cutting a different set of fabrics for a valentine's quilt. I will post these when I finish piecing them. I'm still afraid to do machine quilting...

I love the purse!! It seems like a great size to just carry "everything" in it. Machine quilting definitely takes some getting use to, but it's fun once you usually get one quilt made. I'm the opposite, would love to spend more time hand quilting, but for now I leave it up to my mother in law.
Where do you go shopping for your fabrics?
Again, wonderful work! If only I had a little girl to go splurge on your website, not sure my little Iszak would appreciate hair bows. Well maybe Chris wouldn't approve.

I haven't been to a quilt shop for two years! I can't stand it anymore. I love the new fabrics, now I'll have to find a shop here. I'm feeling crafty lately. Maybe its time to get back on the train. Or maybe I could just finish all of the things I've already started . . . nah!

Hey, Jessica! I buy my fabrics at Joann's and local quilt stores. It is so hard not to buy anything at quilt stores because they have such cute fabrics all the time!!
